Protecting your assets... ...Your most important one, that is!

As time goes by, the world is becoming more and more appalling. It is like hell on earth - especially in third world countries where living conditions are much worse than in the Australia.
So, we ask: How can we survive with so many terrible things happening each day? What will happen to us? Will it ever get better?
|
 | The answer is, ‘NO!’ Things will not get any better. They will get worse day by day. Do you know why? It is because the second coming of the Lord Jesus is near. What we see today is nothing but minor tribulation compared to what will happen at the second coming. So how can we be strong in order to survive the evil days we are experiencing? The first step is to recall that we must be concerned about our salvation above everything else. The apostle Paul said, “Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11) The apostle Paul was indicating that many people do not wear the armour that’s needed to protect their lives. In the past, Roman soldiers wore helmets, breastplates and sandals for protection. But what happens to many Christians nowadays is that they wear helmets but leave their bodies exposed to attacks. Sometimes they even use breastplates, but their feet remain unprotected. The Lord Jesus once said, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” (Matthew 13:44) The treasure the Lord Jesus is refering to is eternal life with God. So, for you to be eternally rich, this treasure must be well protected. However, all the caution you take to protect this treasure inside you will never be enough. It is specifically the armour of God that will help you protect your salvation and keep you in God’s presence. Putting on the armour and protecting your treasure means being honest and righteous; it means refraining from fornication, adultery and lies; and denying the lusts of the flesh - all because you believe that what God has promised is much greater and also eternal. But if you are not willing to sacrifice in this way, you will lose your salvation! The devil does not rest. But know one thing - every time you use your faith to protect your treasure and overcome a problem, you gain experience, you become more mature, and your faith gets strong and unshakable.
