Faith and doubt

You need one to eliminate the other

Many people ask themselves why they suffer so much; they live a destitute and miserable life whilst others achieve happiness.

Indeed, it might be that these people do not lack anything material, but they feel empty and insignificant and nothing can satisfy them.They are always complaining and saying that everything goes wrong for them. These are complaints they normally make because of their suffering. It happens unconsciously and there is just one reason for this: doubt! All their suffering, pain, sorrow and disappointments happen because they have doubt in their hearts.

Doubt is responsible for all the problems of humankind. It is like a virus.When a person catches a virus, he becomes ill, and other illnesses soon take advantage of the physical weakness. The same applies with doubt. It is the mother of fear, worries, anxiety, depression. In short, everything that causes destruction to people’s lives.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” (Hebrews 11:1-3)

Through our faith, which neutralises and wipes out doubts, and through the Lord Jesus we are made strong and powerful.

When the person does not nourish, feed and strengthen his faith by hearing the Word of God, doubts overwhelm him and begin to master first, his spiritual body, and then his physical body.

As we have already said, doubt is like a deadly virus and if there is no strong antidote against it, it will spread and cause the person to die. The person must fight against this virus, and faith is the only antidote.

Whilst doubt is the mother of fear, worries, anxiety and depression, faith is the mother of all blessings. It is responsible for all our victories. Faith is the assurance and the power of God inside of us; it is the Word of God in us and when we keep it in our hearts, we become powerful, strong, invincible and unshakable before all kinds of circumstances.

Therefore, the person must fill his heart with this kind of faith in order to eliminate doubts. Obviously, if faith is not used, doubt will act and destroy the person.

This is the reason why so many people have been suffering; they are full of doubts, they waver and don’t know what they want. They are indecisive, and therefore, good for nothing!

Dear reader, the Lord Jesus teaches us that our ‘Yes’ must be ‘Yes’ and our ‘No’, ‘No’. Anything beyond this comes from the evil one. Therefore, we cannot doubt, much less allow doubts to grow and spread in our heart. On the contrary. We have to act, to exercise our faith, strengthening it through daily meditation on the Word of God. It is by faith that we live and conquer everything that we desire.
