Every achievement in life has its price. If what I want to achieve is big, the price (sacrifice) I will have to pay will also be big. The greater the conquest, the greater the sacrifice required to conquer it.
The price of a victory is proportional to its size. That’s why it’s only courageous, positive and strong-minded people who achieve great victories.
The Holy Spirit never chooses cowards to achieve great things for the glory of His Son! On the contrary, just as He chose special people in the past, He continues to choose people with special qualities today. These hand picked people are those who are ready to sacrifice everything for His cause.
No one sacrifices without absolute assurance that he will triumph.
“If there were no faith... this would be total chaos”
Sacrifice demands faith because “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
(Hebrews 11:1) We can say that faith is the basis of sacrifice. Faith stimulates sacrifice, and without faith a perfect sacrifice cannot be made.
A student would never sacrifice nights of sleep, weekends or spend holidays with his face buried in his books if he were not motivated by faith in the future results it would bring. |
A sensible farmer would never give up his seed by planting it in the earth if he did not have absolute assurance of an abundant harvest.
An investor in the stock market would never risk his capital if he were not sure that he would get his money back and more.
An employee would never work all day long for an entire month if he were not sure that he would get paid.
Even in love, young adults would never sacrifice the freedom of being single unless they had the faith that they were forming a happy family!
Thus, we can see that in all areas of human life, faith is fundamental. If there were no faith, there would be neither love nor hope; there would be neither marriage nor family; there would be no relationship with God. In short, there would be no order in society.
This would be total chaos.
God bless you.
