When people lack understanding of supernatural faith they can fall into the trap of thinking it’s the size of their faith that determines whether or not a miracle happens. When they pray for more faith they show total ignorance about the Holy Scriptures. In fact, faith does not come through prayers, night vigils or fasting.
Faith is strengthened when we hear the Word of God, as it is written: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10.17)
The Word of God not only helps us to understand God’s will, it also strengthens our trust in Him. Every time we read the Bible, it is as though God Himself were speaking to us, assuring us that He will fulfil His promises.
God will never carry out His will on earth without the active participation of His children. For example, God counted on Moses to open the Red Sea for His people to cross. “Stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water.”
“We need to know who we are putting our faith in!”
Joshua marched around the city of Jericho thirteen times and then God made the wall collapse. |
Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” His disciples obeyed and Lazarus came back from the dead.
How can a person obey the word of God or do His will if he completely ignores God’s thoughts? That is why we must acknowledge what the Lord has already determined or given us.
We need to know who we are putting our faith in! How would we have ever believed in Jesus our Saviour if there was nobody to preach about Him? The apostle Paul gave a serious warning when he asked, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10.14-15)
Many godly people have underestimated their faith, not knowing how powerful it is. For example, they believe that the size of faith needed to heal a simple headache is different from the faith needed to heal a person from cancer.
Be careful. This is just one more trick the devil uses to discourage people from using their supernatural faith.
God bless you.
