The Bible clearly shows us that simply believing in divine promises does not guarantee them coming true in your life. In order to experience these promises, you must combine belief with a courageous attitude.
This is why God called Joshua in such a unique way, repeating the same words three times: “Be strong and very courageous”.
If your victory depends on a faith that gets weak at the physical sight of a problem, then what’s the difference between you and an unbeliever?
“What‘s the difference between you and an unbeliever?”
The apostle Paul observing something similar, urged the Galatians: “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing of faith? Are you foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” (Galatians 3.2-3)
This is where many Christians go wrong! They begin in faith when they accept Jesus as their Saviour, but little by little they allow what they see to override their faith. When our faith is firm, our inner being is strengthened, and sustains our outer being. However, if our inner being is weak because of a lack of spiritual food, what will sustain our outer being?
Having our dreams come true is not down to chance. We need to persevere.
The Holy Spirit teaches us that: “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8.6)

In other words, when we give in to the flesh we face defeat, but when we value the Spirit we start living by faith, thus achieving life and peace.
The Lord didn’t give instructions concerning physical weapons; neither did He provide battle plans. He simply encouraged Joshua to face his enemies with the assurance of victory. Whoever wants to overcome must be spiritually healthy.
God bless you.
