Deceitful Faith

It is very common nowadays to find those who say: “I believe in God but my life does not change”; these words are very hard to our ears after all, those who believe can move mountains.

“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done...” Mark 11:22-24

You have faith in God! But the question is: which kind of faith?
Three kinds of faith: the faith that reasons, the faith that feels orthe faith that lives on knowledge alone. All of the three are deceitfulbecause they’re missing action.

That’s exactly what apostle James said: “What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." James 2:14-17

While driving your car you see a beggar, a sudden feeling of pit comes to your heart by realizing that man lives in such impoverished condition. As you keep driving you forget about what you felt for that poor man. What did your feelings do for him? Nothing. Better would be for you to feel nothing, stop your car, go there and help that man somehow, do something to change his life.

Based upon this example, how many times you are frustrated, sad and angry about what is going on in your life. Your husband’s addiction, the debts you have, confusion in the family… Right there, you even rebuke that problem in Jesus’ Name, you pray, you say you will not accept what is happening but you do nothing to change that situation.
For a moment you have a feeling of faith, you think about what is happening all around you and you know God can change it, but that’s all! You do not act.
You know God will bless you, but you do not attend to the chain of prayer; you need a financial change but you are not faithful in your tithe; you reckon you cannot go on without the Holy Spirit but you do not fast or pray in the early hours of the morning seeking for His presence; you need strength but easily replace Sunday morning services for something else.

Faith without action is dead and while you do not consider acting your faith, many fields of your life will be fruitless.
Act your faith now.

God bless you.
