“A son honours his father and a servant his Master. If then I am the Father, where is my honour? And if I am a Master, where is my reverence? Says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 1:6 NKJV
When you want to reap a certain fruit what do you have to do? You have to plant its seed. If you want to earn a salary, what do you have to do? You have to work and thereafter you will receive it. A person goes to the university in order to be more specialized so he can offer his skills in a higher level in order to receive a better salary.
Therefore, we can verify that our lives are based upon the principle of giving to receive. So much so, that no one reaps and after plants. We do not receive God’s blessing first and thereafter we pray. Hence our lives are a result of what we give.
This is the reason why we find in the church of the Lord Jesus, Christians who are having “the knowledge” but wronging the act of giving.
What you are today is a result of what you offered yesterday, and you will be tomorrow what you offer today. Offering, this is what we are talking about, but offering is not only money, but also everything we do to Jesus.
There are people who, though confess to believe in God, give a terrible testimony in their house or working place, making others even to reject the word of God on account of their wrong doings. |
Instead of people getting to know God through him they actually resent the word of God. He gives his financial offering when in the church but, out of the church, his behaviour is terrible. The mother wants to save her son but when she comes back from the church to the house, she acts unreasonably.
When you give a good example in your house you are giving your offering! When you refuse to lie and deceive but instead you do the right thing, you are giving your offering.
If you are a Christian and your life is a mess, it may all be related to the offering you have been presenting to God. Your life must honour God; your conduct must reflect God in your life.
Do not forget that Jesus Christ fed about 20,000 people by multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish, but those were freely given to Jesus. How is He going to bless your life if you hold it tightly? How is He going to bless your life if when you leave the church you take your life back by living according to your own ways?
The Lord Jesus wants to transform your life; He wants to reveal His will to you. He wants to give you the light of salvation; a kind of life that you will have depression no more, addiction no more but it will all depend on the quality of offering you are prepared to give.
God bless you.
