Is Your Family Saved
Is Your Family Saved? |

Throughout the years I’ve seen many testimonies of mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, husbands and wives who – by their faith – did not give up until they saw their loved ones in the kingdom of God. As a matter of fact, I am a living testimony of that. When I still didn’t understand how much I needed Jesus, my mother was already praying for my brother, my father and me. We were not religious people. We would go to church once in a while – mostly for weddings, baptisms, etc. But we were not into going to church. My mother knew though that we needed salvation. I remember that in the early days of my conversion, she told me that after she found Jesus – when she had a true experience with Him – she realised that we were all in hell. |

And she was determined to fight with all her strength to change that. From that moment on, she made chains of prayer, she took our clothes to be blessed, she would anoint us with oil, bless water in the church and then give it to us and so on. All this things helped but what made the difference was her faith. She was willing to fight until we were saved. I could add that my father was very sick, due to his bad habits. He used to drink a lot and smoke between 3 to 4 packs of cigarettes daily, I’m not exaggerating. The doctor had already told him that he wouldn’t live long due to his heart condition, unless he drastically changed his lifestyle. My brother and I were going down the same path. But that wasn’t the real issue. Our main problem was that we were lost. We didn’t have God in us. Without God there is no life. If my mother only prayed that we quit our addictions, it wouldn’t be enough. As a washed pig returns to the mud, so are those that conquer a few blessings but don’t have Jesus. They will make decisions that will jeopardise everything they accomplished until then. Some parents say, ‘my son doesn’t like to come to church, but at least he is doing well in school’. But, will that be enough if tomorrow he gets in trouble? How many young men and women end up graduating and being unsuccessful in every other area of their lives? And how many end up quitting before they finish? If we look at our life as a building, the foundation is Jesus. If we try to build over any other foundation, it’s like building over the sand. Our building won’t last. Going back to my own experience, my life started when I gave myself to Jesus. From that moment on, I started to build my life on that foundation. You may ask, ‘How am I going to get my family to seek God? You cannot force them to come and you shouldn’t try either. It may backfire. But you can insist on your prayers, while taking part of every event or campaign that is made in the church on their behalf. Do not set a time, 3, 5 or 7 weeks. Get ready to fight until you have the victory! However, only those who are saved understand the value of Salvation. The first question you must ask yourself is, are you saved? Twenty years later, I will be climbing Mount Sinai, joining many other Bishops and Pastors from all over the world. Among them are my father and my brother. If twenty years ago we were all in hell, today we are all in God’s presence and fighting so that others can also overcome. And it all started with a simple woman who did not accept to see her family in the hands of the devil. Do not underestimate the power of your faith. You don’t depend on anything or anyone. You depend only, exclusively on your OWN faith. Do not wait for incentives to pursue your goals. Go for what you want! Upon my return, next Sunday, we will be laying hands on everyone – you and your family – to share the blessing of Sinai. We will also be taking part of the Lord’s Supper and doing a baptism for those who want to start a new life with Christ. Don’t miss it. God bless you! |
