Spiritual Workout

Spiritual Workout

We are getting ready for the Mount Sinai Challenge. To be completely honest, the challenge has started for me a few weeks ago when I found out we would be climbing Mount Sinai again.

Every time we have a campaign like this, I see it as an opportunity to exercise our faith. After all, God has given us faith as a weapon to fight life’s many challenges. If we stop putting it to action, we get weak and we die spiritually. We risk even losing our salvation, because we are saved by faith. If our faith is weak, how can we resist temptation?

As I write this, I can’t help but to think about Caleb. He was 40 years old when he was promised a specific piece of the Promised Land and by the age of 85 he finally got the opportunity to go and conquer it.

“As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” (Joshua 14:11-12)

That kind of faith was what kept him going. While many of the Israelites who left Egypt died in the desert, Caleb remained strong till the end.

I have seen people giving up on their dreams because they let the adversities or time get to them. They stop believing in themselves - that they CAN - and that’s a small step from stopping to believe in God altogether.

Those who never give up, who are in constant action, challenge after challenge and victory upon victory remain strong. They are the ones who endure till the end.

“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)

In the past 18 years in which I’ve been involved with God’s Work, I have taken part in many campaigns. Yet, I am going into this one as if it is my first time – with all of my strength. I know what He has done and what He can do. The testimonies will follow our acts of faith.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” (Ecclesiastes 9:10)

I’m in. And you?

God bless you!

Quote of the Day

" Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them. "
