Are You Despising The Most Important?

Are You Despising The Most Important?

“And Esau said to Jacob, “Please feed me with that same red stew, for I am weary.” Therefore his name was called Edom. But Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright as of this day.” And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?” Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”
(Genesis 25:30-34)

Esau despised his birthright for a plate of lentils. He rejected something that was important for him - that would last his entire life, to have something that would satisfy his flesh just for a short moment. Obviously, later he realized how dumb he was.

“And Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birthright, and now look, he has taken away my blessing!” And he said, “Have you not reserved a blessing for me?””(Genesis 27:36)

How many people do exactly like Esau? They reject the most important thing (Salvation, relationship with God) for a moment of pleasure that will only last a few minutes.

I will not repeat what was said many times. Everybody knows what do people do for a momentary pleasure.

Look at this example. I want to say, don’t be like Esau - young and fool. Don’t despise what is more important and lasts forever, for a plate of lentils. Or else you’ll regret it!

Be always the best, in Jesus’ Name!

Quote of the Day

" Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them. "
