The “IS ABOUT TO” tree

There was a time in a far away country when a young prince became king, and as every person when has a new opportunity, comes with new ideas.

So he had an idea of making people respect and like him. He told the messengers of the palace to go and tell this to the people: “Our king says that he IS ABOUT TO do this and he IS ABOUT TO do that”, “we’ll have this and we’ll conquer that”, etc... And they started doing this very often, as the king had ordered.

Time was passing by and people started to not take the King’s message seriously anymore, and every time that his messengers would come, people would start laughing, criticizing and bad mouthing the king.

When the young king found out that he was losing people’s trust, he got worried because he knew that no kingdom could prevail if it didn’t have it’s people support. Then he called the advisor of the kingdom for his wise advise.

The old man came, and after listening to the king he said: “Your majesty, you know that I served your father with my best, and I’ll not let you down, but before I say anything else I would like to invite you to see my new tree that I have in my backyard. You have to try it’s fruit.”

“What is it’s name?” - the king asked.

“It’s name is The “IS ABOUT TO” tree. - replied the old man - “and it’s fruit is delicious!”

“Great, I’m in need of something to cheer me up. When does it give it’s fruit?” – The king spoke.

“Oh, it IS ABOUT TO.”- Answered the man. The “IS ABOUT TO” tree

After a few months the young king called the old man and asked with an angry tone of voice. - “Where is my fruit that you promised me? Since you showed me the tree you haven’t given me the fruit to eat, and always when I ask you your answer its always the same “IS ABOUT TO.” Are you making fun of me, wasn’t it you that promised me the fruit in the first place? How can I believe in your word now?”

“My King I’m not making fun of you I just answered your request for advice, that I was supposed to give you some time ago.” - replied the old man - “The same way that you started to doubt my word when I said that the tree was about to give it’s fruits and after a few months nothing happened, your kingdom also doubts. People were exited about the new ideas and promises that your messengers brought to them, like you were when I promised you the fruit, once you failed with your word people stopped believing in you. Dear king learn this, when you say something, do it, because only that way you will get the respect that you wish.”

The king learned his lesson and from that moment on he started to do more than just promise.

You may have big dreams for your life and you may say that you will do this or achieve that, but if you don’t do anything for that to happen, and put your faith in God’s word, you will hardly get anywhere.

Don’t just dream, or say that you will do this or that. DO IT!! If not, nobody will respect your word nor your faith.
