Lord's Supper
Sunday, 15 August 2010, 10:00am - 5:00pm

The Holy Communion is also known as the Lord’s Supper. Jesus and his disciples first took part in the Lord’s Supper on the night that he would be betrayed by Judas. Jesus’ command to his disciples was for them to take part in the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of him. Although they did not understand why he said this, today we know that it is because he was going to be crucified and he would no longer be there physically.

A person who has given his heart to God and taken the decision to leave his old life behind, eats the bread, which represents the body of Jesus, and drinks the wine (Grape Juice), which represents Jesus’ Blood. By taking part in the Lord's Supper one acknowledges that he is part of Jesus` body and will no longer be part of this world; and when one drinks the blood (Grape Juice) he acknowledges Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and the forgiveness of his sins until Jesus comes.

On Sunday the 15th of August we are going to partake of the Lord's Supper at 10am and 5pm.

Quote of the Day

" It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult. "
