In the year 2000, I was diagnosed with disease of my coronary arteries. An angiogram was performed which showed 80% of my left Descending Artery was blocked and I was hospitalised and underwent a stent later that year.

Before that, I was having chest pain on exertion. I could barely walk a few metres without pain and I had to walk very slowly.

The stent was successful and I started to gain more movement without chest pain but I had to take four medications every day, which my Cardiac Specialist said I would have to take for the rest of my life.
My life changed… I have a son who was about four years old at the time and I was very concerned that I might not play with him as a healthy father normally does. I have been a Christian since my baptism in 1984 and I know that God anointed His Son Jesus Christ not only to save but also to heal and to deliver. So I put all my faith in God …prayed and requested prayers from various Christians, family and friends.
I started to feel better but the effects of the medications made me feel tired and sleepy in the afternoon at work. I was working as a Community Nurse driving a car to visit sick people in their homes, this was not a safe condition to be… I found it very hard to stay awake especially during meetings.
I continued to pray and seek prayers whenever there were prayer requests for healing. Besides prayer, I was also very careful in my lifestyle, eating a healthy diet and doing exercises regularly. Last year, I started to attend the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in Liverpool.
I attended on a weekday and the Pastor prayed for me, I realised that my condition had improved radically…
I was jogging about 1-2 hours a few times a week without any problem at all. God had intervened in my life and had given me a new lease in life as my health had improved tremendously.

Testifying in the church, I said that I intended to take part in the Sydney City to Surf marathon run which covers a distance of fourteen kilometres just to give God the glory for His kindness to me. So I started to train for that purpose.

On the 12 August this year, I was ready for the City to Surf marathon run. I covered the fourteen kilometres in 2 hours 7 minutes and 30 seconds.

I crossed the finishing line with my arms up high in victory to thank God for His great LOVE and MERCY. I realised also when I crossed the finishing line that I was not even in pain or tired…Prior to the run I claimed the promise of God accounted in ISAIAH   40: 28-31

“OH GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD! FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER”
