In the year 2000, I was diagnosed with disease of my coronary arteries. An angiogram was performed which showed 80% of my left Descending Artery was blocked and I was hospitalised and underwent a stent later that year.
Before that, I was having chest pain on exertion. I could barely walk a few metres without pain and I had to walk very slowly. |
The stent was successful and I started to gain more movement without chest pain but I had to take four medications every day, which my Cardiac Specialist said I would have to take for the rest of my life. Testifying in the church, I said that I intended to take part in the Sydney City to Surf marathon run which covers a distance of fourteen kilometres just to give God the glory for His kindness to me. So I started to train for that purpose. On the 12 August this year, I was ready for the City to Surf marathon run. I covered the fourteen kilometres in 2 hours 7 minutes and 30 seconds. I crossed the finishing line with my arms up high in victory to thank God for His great LOVE and MERCY. I realised also when I crossed the finishing line that I was not even in pain or tired…Prior to the run I claimed the promise of God accounted in ISAIAH 40: 28-31 “OH GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD! FOR HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER” |
