A loving relationship, good health, thriving career, peace of mind, happy family, happy home—a happy life! Isn’t this what most people hope to have one day? But time passes and a series of obstacles, bad decisions and disappointments turn what was once a certainty of things hoped for into nothing more than wishful thinking. They keep going and keep trying but now instead of truly going for what they want, they simply hope luck will be on their side.

 

Something is better than nothing, right? WRONG!

 

What we want you to understand is that, there is a HUGE difference between hoping and wishing. When someone wishes, they are showing what they long to happen or see, but deep down have accepted that it’s impossible. It’s hopeless! Hope, on the other hand, is the certainty that something will happen, no matter the challenges.

 

This is the kind of hope we want you to have. You may look at your situation right now and struggle to see a way forward, but look at what God says: “…I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) We believe in this word and this is why we have declared that Sunday, 23 March, will be The Day of Hope.
